Celtic Whiskey Shop Exclusive Powers 16 yo

Irish Whiskey from the Midleton Distillery

John Power founded the Powers distillery at John's Lane in Dublin in 1791. For a long time, Powers was the best selling Irish whiskey in Ireland. In 1966, the two remaining Dublin distilleries - John Jameson & Sons and John Power & Son, amalgamated with the Cork Distilleries Company of Old Midleton to form Irish Distillers. By 1974 the Dublin distilleries had closed their doors and all whiskey production moved to New Midleton in Cork.

Celtic Whiskey Shop first opened at 27 Dawson Street in Dublin in 2003. It is owned and managed by Ally Alpine. They stock a comprehensive whiskey range including Irish, Scotch and World whiskeys. They also stock other spirits - Armagnacs, Grappa, Rum, Schnapps amongst others. The second half of their shop houses their wine selection. Celtic Whiskey Shop, while well known for their beverage offerings, also host the annual Irish Whiskey Awards and the ever impressive Whiskey Live Dublin event. No wonder they have a long list of Celtic Whiskey Shop exclusive whiskey bottles from their supportive suppliers.

This Powers 16 year old single cask #18585 is ex-bourbon, triple distilled Pot Still Irish whiskey and bottled at 46% ABV.
