Achill Island Distillery is a family-owned distillery located on Achill Island off the west coast of County Mayo. Founded by John McKay and operated by the McKay family, the distillery became Ireland’s first island-based whiskey distillery when it opened in 2019. Inspired by Achill’s Atlantic climate, maritime heritage, and rugged landscape, the distillery produces a range of Irish whiskeys alongside rum, gin, vodka, and poitín, all crafted on the island along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Achill Island Distillers Cask Strength Peated Cask is an Irish single malt whiskey matured in peated casks and bottled at a cask strength of 60% abv. It is presented with natural colour and without chill filtration.
