The Ennis Whiskey Club have organised a series of Irish Brand tastings around Ennis again for 2026. Our May event, was Achill Distillery, presented by, Sean McKay.

We had a packed house in Cruise's Bar for this exceptional tasting and Sean brought with him a fine selection of their spirits. We started the night with their 2yo aged Rum, which began in Widow Jane bourbon barrels before being finished in White Hag Imperial stout casks that once held rum. This rum was fermented, distilled and matured in Achill Distillery. We then got into their core range, starting with their ex-bourbon single malt, followed by their Bordeaux finished single malt. We then had their Single Pot Still, sherry finished followed by their 2024 special edition single malt port and ex-bourbon matured. It was a real treat to next taste their Founder's Reserve 21 year old single malt before wrapping up the tasting with their Peated Casked Single Malt at cask strength.
