Tamdhu Distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky producer known for its unwavering dedication to 100% sherry cask maturation. Founded in 1897 and located on the banks of the River Spey, Tamdhu uses only first-fill and refill oloroso sherry casks from Spain, which give its whiskies a rich, complex character with notes of dried fruits, spice, and oak. After a period of closure in the early 2000s, Tamdhu was revived in 2011 by Ian Macleod Distillers and has since become a favourite among sherried whisky enthusiasts for its traditional methods and bold flavour profile.
Tamdhu 18 Year Old was a significant milestone for the distillery. Launched in April 2022, this expression was introduced to mark Tamdhu's 125th anniversary, celebrating over a century of craftsmanship and dedication to sherry cask maturation. This 18-year-old whisky is fully matured in a combination of American and European oak Oloroso sherry casks, reflecting Tamdhu's commitment to traditional aging methods. It's bottled at 46.8% ABV, non-chill filtered and no added colouring.
