The Ennis Whiskey Club have organised a series of Irish Brand tastings around Ennis again for 2026. Our February event, and first event of 2026 was the Spot range of Whiskey, presented by, Matthew Smyth.

The Spot Whiskey range is infamous in Ireland from it's origins with wine and spirit merchants, the Mitchell family, based in Dublin since 1887. Now firmly in the Midleton stable of whiskeys, the spot range is expanding year on year. All Pot Still style, we started with Green Spot on the night followed by the red wine finished Green Spot from Chateau Leoville Barton casks. We moved onto the sweet Yellow Spot 12 year old before getting into the 15 year old Marsala finished Red Spot. Our fifth whiskey of the night was the cask strength Blue Spot 7 year old. Matt was very kind to bring along a sample of the 19 year old single cask Red Spot to finish the tasting on a spectacular note.
