The Ennis Whiskey Club have organised a series of whiskey tastings around Ennis again for 2026. Our March event was the Bunnahabhain Whisky range from MacCormaics portfolio presented by Paul Maguire. And despite the advertised venue of No.FortyOne, it was fantastic to be back in the recently rennovated Cruise's Bar!

Paul Maguire returns again to Ennis, following a very successful Japanese Tasting back in 2024. This time he brings with him a Scotch range from the Islay distillery of Bunnahabhain. To start the evening Paul brought with him another whiskey from their portfolio, a Tennessee Bourbon by the name of Heaven's Door, a collaboration with singer Bob Dylan. At 42% abv, this bourbon was a little different and very well received. For the rest of the tasting we focused completely on Bunnahabhain. We started with the entry level Stiuireadair, followed by the classic 12 year old. We then stepped it up with the very well received 18yo before finishing with the only peated expression of the night Toiteach A Dha. Thanks Paul for a very interesting evening of whiskey.
