The Ennis Whiskey Club have organised a series of Irish Brand tastings around Ennis again for 2026. Our April event, was Copeland Distillery, presented by, Mick McKeown and Gareth Irvine.

Copeland Distillery is located in Donaghadee in County Down and we were delighted to have its Founder, Gareth Irvine and International Sales Manager, Mick McKeown make the trip to County Clare to share some of their whiskey range. They have been distilling since 2019 and they brought with them 2 of their sourced whiskeys along with whiskeys distilled themselves and some cask samples. We started with Merchants Quay Blue label blend followed by Merchants Quay 5 year old Single Grain. We then moved onto their own 5 year old double distilled malt, release 25.3 [their third release of 2025] before having a cask sample of a 3yo sherry bomb, cask strength. This was followed by Release 26.1, another double distilled single malt, but at cask strength. We rounded the tasting off with a cask sample of a double distilled peated malt, cut to 46% abv.
