The Ennis Whiskey Club have organised a series of Irish Brand tastings around Ennis again for 2025. Our October event was Killaloe Whiskey, presented by our very own, Eric Flynn.
The Killaloe Whiskey company was founded by four friends on the shores of Lough Derg in Killaloe. In 2019 they began experiementing with wine finished whiskeys which led to their first three releases in March 2024. The Tobar series has influences of Crianza wine, Rioja and Chardonnay. We got a special treat of the first public tasting of a recently bottled batch 2 of Tobar Dorcha. And we rounded off the evening with a cask sample of a single malt from a first fill Rioja cask, destined for release in early 2026.
